ABOUT ME
Since studying Modern and Contemporary History and Cultural Studies at Berlin Humboldt University from 1995-2001, I have taught German as a foreign language at the Goethe-Institut and various academic institutions. My work profile includes private tuition as well as group classes at all course levels of the European Framework of Reference. Plus I have a lot of experience in exam preparation for all Goethe-Institut certificates, as well as Test DaF and DSH. In addition to general language lessons, I give courses in business German as well as occupation-specific courses for medical and legal professionals, diplomats, and office communication. My portfolio also includes specially designed courses for grammar/writing at levels C1 and C2.
The foundations for my future career as a German tutor were laid early on. Even as a schoolboy, I loved the German language. I used to avidly read the novels of Thomas Mann, the poems of Rainer Maria Rilke, and the plays of Heinrich von Kleist.
I started my career teaching German as a foreign language at the IFS institute for language and international cultural exchange in Berlin. A short time later, I moved to the Goethe-Institut Berlin, and have been there for 18 years now. I really enjoy my job, whether it’s teaching day courses, evening classes or one-to-one lessons – and the feedback from my students is consistently good. Other institutions that I have worked for include ESCP Europe School of Management, the Humboldt University with its Language and Areas Studies and IES Abroad programmes for American students, and the British embassy.
